Davido rallies Pasuma, Ara for Festival of India

Afropop star, David Adeleke aka Davido, Pasuma Wonder and Ara are set to engage their Indian counterparts during the forthcoming mega event tagged, ‘Festival of India-Lagos’.
The event, which will take place on August 13, 2016 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, will see other acts like Anup Jalota, Sammie Okposo, Sai Gargi, Tee Mac and Yuvika Chaudhary performing.
Ara, the ‘drummer girl’ will slug it out with one of the best drummers from India. While Ara has promised her fans the best of the best on the day, her Indian counterpart vowed to expose Nigerians and the international audience to a rich display of Indian culture.
According to the former president, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and chairman, Festival of India-Lagos Planning Committee, Bolaji Rosiji, India is the fastest growing economy in the world. It also has the second largest SME network in the world. “Therefore, one of the objectives of this event is to revive the SME sector in Lagos State through a mutually beneficial development programme,” he said.
This event, which will showcase the crème de la crème of Bollywood and Nollywood, is organised by the Indian diaspora in Lagos, with the support of MTN, Zee World, Gaurapad Charities and Lagos State government among others.
“Anup Jalota is popularly known as the Emperor of Bhajans. He has won multiple awards globally and is coming to the festival with his full troupe. Anyone who has heard his tabla drum player knows it sounds just like thunder. Pasuma Wonder has promised that since he has ‘home advantage’ he will be at his most entertaining form to musically challenge the Indian stars and do us proud,” Rosiji stressed.
The Festival of India will kick off with a chariot parade departing from CMS and accompanied by Indian and Nigerian cultural troupes, and will anchor at Tafawa Balewa Square where there will be an international fair, Indo-Nigerian Cultural Expo and concert.
